Betty was referred to us by a neighbor who was a past client of ours. She lived in a split-level townhouse with a tuck-under garage and was finding it more and more difficult to climb the stairs. We met with Betty & her children to go over the marketing plan for selling her townhome. On moving day Betty needed one of us to be at the townhome when the movers were there so she could be at her newly constructed senior coop. She is happy to be living without stairs & close to her children and grandchildren.

Ron & Sue were empty nesters, wanting to downsize. They felt that it was time to sell their home of 20 years and move into a townhouse. Based on their "no maintenance" criteria we found them a one-level townhouse located away from the "hustle and bustle" of the city in an inclusive 55+ community. One of the things that they liked about this home was the private, gated patio courtyard leading to the front entrance.

Angie & Cliff D. - New Hope, MN (eminent domain of home, purchase new townhouse in inclusive 55+ community)

Angie and Cliff's daughter called us to sign up for one of our senior housing seminars. The three of them attended. She later called us regarding her parent's situation with eminent domain. This meant that Cliff and Angie's home, which they had built and raised their family would be condemned solely for the purpose of constructing a townhouse development. We sat down with Cliff, Angie and two of their children to go over their criteria for there move to a new community. They were all involved in the process and looked at each home we showed them.  We also provided market data to assist them in their negotiations with the city. Cliff and Angie moved in an  inclusive 55+ community. Cliff and Angie were allowed to take with them anything they wanted from the property they had made such wonderful memories at. They graciously gave their perennials to all those desiring some. We now have several Hosta's in our landscaping which we will always treasure.

Martha's daughter called us regarding a senior housing option seminar we were planning. She was in town from California, was returning home the next day and would not be able to attend our upcoming seminar. We offered to meet with her and Martha that same day at Martha's home. They were thrilled with that option. We talked about Martha's desire to move to one level living. We worked with Martha, based on her criteria and with our assistance she sold her existing home & purchased a condo in an inclusive 55+ community. Interestingly, this was originally an elementary school which her daughter had attended and later was sold and converted into privately owned condominiums. She is now living in what she thinks is her daughters 2nd grade classroom.

Margaret was referred to us by a past senior client. Her lake home was filled with wonderful memories which made it difficult for her to think about moving even though see knew it was necessary and she was excited about moving into a 55+ cooperative. We first met with Margaret and had a casual conversation. Later, Margaret's son called and wanted to meet with us at Margaret's home to go over the marketing plan. We listed Margaret's home and kept Margaret and her son informed of each step of the process. Margaret's home sold in perfect timing & despite the difficulties in leaving a home you love she is now loving her new coop unit.

Louie & Audrey called us from a recommendation of a past client. They had made an offer on a townhouse and needed to get their home on the market as soon as possible. We met with them to review the marketing plan, but it became apparent that they had second thoughts about their offer on a townhouse. They needed someone to really listen to them about what their needs were. As it turned out, they really wanted a senior community that was socially active and that fit with their retirement budget. We suggested that they look into a senior, 62+ apartment community that was highly recommended by a past client. They toured the facility and really liked what they saw. We sold their home and they moved into an active senior community. They now have the opportunity to be socially involved without getting in a car!

Kathy had contacted us about attending one of our senior housing seminars. There was a sense of urgency and we agreed to meet her the next day during her lunch break. We placed her home on the market which later sold and found her a condo with a view of woods and nature. Shortly after her move, she contacted us regarding an assessed fee by the condo association. We went back into our files to retrieve information that would help her defend her position in not paying this fee, gave her support and confidence in conveying this to the association board.
